Lubricant
Running 'dry' bearings is disastrous for the life of a bearing, that ‘whooshing’ noise you hear when spinning your wheels is the metal balls grinding against their channels. Every spin removes a microscopic layer of metal from inside the bearings, eventually wearing the race down and making them less efficient and slow. When you add lube, you instantly protect them and prolong their life.
When you properly maintain your bearings they will last longer, run smoother and faster.
A couple of drops every few weeks will keep you rolling faster and longer.
